Somerset
For my independent photo series I chose to photograph the Bowers' houses and Main street. I found the Bowers' houses and the history about them because through generations and marriages, they are apart of my family! Before the field trip I had knows that my Mom's side of the family had always been in Somerset for generations, but i had never known how much history was behind it all. Through the photos i told the story of as you walk down Main street starting from the old ship yard, as you were to walk down Main street it what you would see and come across. Through the visual narrative i focused on lines and textures to keep the series fluent while they're different structures and colors the lines and texture keep a focus in every photo.
Photo 6: In photo #6, i used my phone and used the portrait mode and made the photo have a depth effect. I used a low point of view ad had a farther distance while taking the photo. I highlighted the lines and numbers along with the color.
Photo 10: In photo #10 I took the picture while looking up the tree. I like how the texture of the tree was captured as well as the abstract of the branches are highlighted. A filter was used to brighten the tree color, but to also make it pop out of the grey sky.
